First sales from Somkhele, an anthracite project being developed by mining company Petmin would be in the second quarter of this year, the company said in an announcement
Petmin, which is still trading under a cautionary announcement, said a crushing, washing and screening plant with throughput of 120,000 tonnes/month was commisioned on June 1 and would reach full production in by July 1.
The open pit development is on track and approximately 30,000 tonnes has been stockpiled for processing and an additional estimated 150,000 tonnes is scheduled to be exposed by the end of June.
